Triware Networld Systems (TNS) announced today the completion of the United Defense, Limited Partnership (UDLP) network migration.  TNS has proven to be a valuable resource enabling UDLP to meet its commitments for an up-to-date networking environment in a cost effective way.

TNS was selected by UDLP to convert its existing network of 1200 workstations with varying operating systems, to a standard configuration working under a new Network Operating System.  Within two weeks, software was written to automate the conversion process.  This software saved UDLP not only money previously budgeted for an extended conversion plan, but also the time required to make the conversion.

Mr. Jim Tilley, Manager Information Technologies at UDLP issued the following excerpt from his recommendation to assure the competence of TNS and Mr. Benson Yeung, Senior Partner:

“Mr. Yeung was under contract (and continues to be under contract as of this writing) at UDLP during 1993-1994.  His main responsibility was to architect the conversion of 1200 Netware 3.11 clients from DEC Pathworks to Novell NetWare.  To accomplish this he created an automated procedure that support people used to convert individual clients.  This reduced the time to convert a client by 70% and allowed less experienced individuals to do the conversion work.  All clients were converted in a 6 month period with minimal disruption.”
