Help Desk Outsourcing Win For TNS

Two divisions of AMP, Inc., located in the San Francisco Bay Area have chosen TNS as their sole help desk service and support provider for the year 1998.

AMP, Inc., Global Passive Product Division and wholly owned Connectware, LLC Division, have contracted their help desk service and support agreement with TNS for desktop, server, local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) services. 

Both divisions previously employed full time Information Technology (IT) staff and occasionally used TNS for additional help when needed.  During those occasions, TNS was able to deliver the required high-level service & support in a cost effective manner.  Because of the competitive nature of AMP’s business and the difficulties in finding and keeping qualified IT engineers, these divisions came to the same conclusion that they wanted to do what they do best - produce quality products and cut unnecessary costs.  The need for in-house Information Technology (IT) staff was evaluated resulting in a total outsourcing of IT operations to TNS.

TNS currently provides support to both divisions' PC & UNIX desktops, servers running under NT 3.5x, 4.x, NetWare 4.x and UNIX, connectivity to the Internet, along with HP3000 and IBM mainframes running many mission critical applications.  The outsourcing agreement provides both divisions 7x24x365 coverage at an economical cost.
