Networld Systems Warns Clients of
Growing Hacks
“With new means of communication,
hackers are finding new means of stealing data from organizations.” –
Benson Yeung, TNS Senior Partner.

April 15,
2005 -- Triware Networld Systems, L.L.C. today announced...
Just as the
Internet is opening doors to more efficient ways of communication, it is
also letting in more hackers, according to Triware Networld Systems
(TNS) Senior Partner Benson Yeung.
“With new means of
communication, hackers are finding new means of stealing data from
organizations,” Yeung said.
Yeung joins many
other IT experts who are predicting a growing number of hacks in the
near future.
According to
InformationWeek’s Global Information Security Survey, in 2004, about 30
percent of suspect unauthorized employees were behind hack incidents —
another 17 percent were suspect authorized workers and 15 percent were
former employees.
In addition, CSO
Magazine reported that, in 2004, only 7 percent of organizations said
that senior management had established a security policy and auditing
process.
Ernest & Young, LLP,
has also reported that, in 2003, insider attacks on large companies
caused an average of $2.7 million in damages, where as the average
outside attack cost about $57,000.
Microsoft stated
that there has been a “dramatic rise in cyber crime” that points to the
need for efficient and proactive means of protecting digital
information.
To help
organizations protect their most valuable asset — data critical to their
operations — as they move onto more advanced ways of communication, TNS
has developed and continues to enhance our Security Framework™ covering
all aspects of security.
TNS’s Security
Framework™ is focused on eight established security domains, which have
been developed and certified in-house:
-
Office
Communication Equipment
-
Communication
Media
-
Computer
Equipment (Hardware, OS & Application Software)
-
Telecommunication Infrastructure
-
Network
(Internet, Extranet & Intranet)
-
Organizational
Security Policy
-
Physical
Security
-
Social
As seen from the
eight domains, our framework is designed to cover both the technical and
logistical sides of security, from human resource procedures to security
policy creation and review. Unfortunately, 75 percent of security issues
are caused by the employees at a business, and TNS’s Security Framework™
is designed with this in mind.
Thus, we provide a
wide range of security services, including:
 |
Vulnerability assessments |
 |
Penetration tests |
 |
Real-time

has helped clients design and implement Air-Tight, Multi-Layer IT
Security Defense Systems™, developed by our Research and Development
team. More importantly, TNS can work with clients to implement
safeguards without the need for expensive hardware and software

“The goal is to
prevent data and information loss caused by external, internal and
natural causes,” Yeung said. “At TNS, we view security as part of
everything we do in every of our major IT engagements.”
Our framework has
become so effective that TNS has been commissioned in the past to
