MULTI-PLATFORM DATA MIGRATION

This aerospace company was seeking a flexible solution to their problems in backing up data from different hardware platforms (Mac, PC, and UNIX). In addition to reliability, they wanted the ability to easily secure the backed up data by storing it in a separate, locked location.

The unique solution provided was to install a Write Once Read Many (WORM) drive as a data collection device for systems across the network. To the different hardware platforms, the WORM drive appeared as just another hard drive. When the CD became full, it could easily be replaced, and the original CD could then be stored in a secure location with very little space requirements.

The WORM drive hardware resulted in an easy, simple, uncomplicated, and completely reliable answer to this client’s requirement.
